 This is my intro page to my site dedicated
to one of my favorite past times - hunting. I enjoy hunting deer
and turkey. I did not hunt much in 97-98, 98-99 and 99-00 hunting
seasons because of my move to Helena, Alabama and the birth of my first
child, Stephen, in 97 and the birth of my second child, Anna, in 00.
Prior to that I hunted every chance I got and most of the time
I was hunting with my good buddy Jeff Abts, who you see in the picture
to the right. He is in our camphouse in Marengo County, Alabama
psyching himself up for the next morning's hunt.
Stephen turned four in August, 2001 and we have already been squirrel hunting twice. Of course we didn't see anything. In the 99-00 deer hunting season, he and Peepaw were sitting in the deer house when a spike buck came into the green field. Peepaw shot and killed that buck with Stephen watching. Those horns are now on the wall in Stephen's room. He can still tell the story today. And everyday he reshoots that big buck. When we go to bed at night he says that I am the big buck, he is the little fawn and we are in the buck thicket. He has watched Bambi one time to many. If Mom goes in to lay down with him then she is the big doe. However he allows her to enter the buck thicket. In 1996 I limited out my first time on turkeys. This of course was with the help of the Turkey Terminator himself, Doug Scott. He can be seen in some of my turkey hunting pictures. My friend, Steve Reaves, has supplied me with a lot of really good turkey pictures of lots of turkeys on his land. I am looking forward to helping him remove some of those long beards from his place next year. Above are some links to other web pages dedicated to hunting. There are only a few but at least there are some now. |
