My name is Mitchel Gibbs. I killed a 0 point Doe that weighed 80 lbs. I killed this deer on 12/29/99 in Marengo County, AL with my Remington Model 788 .308 calibre rifle. My website is www.mitchelgibbs.com and a brief story of my hunt is below.
I was watching a couple of oaks in some pines when a doe came down the hill to the
left. At the same time it sounded like one came down the hill to the right. I never could
get a clean shot at the one on the left. All of a sudden the one on the right stepped over
a knoll she had been behind and saw me. So I shot her in the head.
My name is David Gibbs. I killed a 3 point Buck that weighed 140 lbs. I killed this deer on 12/28/99 in Marengo County, AL with my Remington Model 7 .308 calibre rifle. A brief story of my hunt is below.
I was sitting in the shoot house with my two year old grandson Stephen watching a green field. Every few minutes he would say "Deer" and stick his face up to the hole in the house. Once he said that and sure enough the three point was standing at the other end of the field. I took him down off the bench and put him on the ground behind me as I got the gun and prepared to shoot. At the shot the deer acted as hit and ran out of the field. Stephen was not bothered at all and went out the door and around the shoot house to go to the green field. We didn't find the deer but The Crew came in later that night and Eric Huggins found it for us.
My name is Eric Huggins. I killed a 5 point Buck that weighed 170 lbs. I killed this deer on 1/22/00 in The Swamp with my 30.06. A brief story of my hunt is below.
His footsteps in the leaves woke me up coming down the hill to the right of the
shooting house (I was dozing). About five minutes later, I saw a deer come into the
oatpatch from the right, and I noticed it was big. I couldn't see his head, but I knew it
was a buck because he was pawing the ground and such. Finally I saw his head and saw his
rack. The first shot hit him to the rear of the heart. I missed the second shot because he
was on the run. He fell across the oat patch and I finished him off with a shot to the
neck. He was a pretty big deer.
My name is Philip Walker. I killed a 0 point Doe that weighed plump lbs. I killed this deer on Tuesday after Christmas in Cindy's oat patch with my Remington Model 700 in 30-06. My website is computerpieces.com and a brief story of my hunt is below.
I made it to the shooting house and waited for a while. Big one got spooked and ran off before I ever saw him. Then a couple of deer came out and grazed a little bit. The bigger of the two was a doe. I waited as long I could then shot her to put a little meat in the freezer. Lot of work for some deer meat. I need to shoot a buck next time.
