Chad Clowdus and His First Deer

Horizontal Bar

Chad and his first deer.On January 20, 2001, late in the day, Chad Clowdus killed his first deer on a green field in Pickens County. On the very same green field he had missed a nice 10 point just weeks prior to taking this young 8 point. His 150 yard shot was just a little better than the one he made on the 10. It was a gut shot that put this deer down.

Chad is the Nephew to Kim Clowdus, who used to work with me at Maxson Engineering.  Kim and I are all the time swapping hunting stories.  Kim told me that Chad was all the time calling him up and telling him that he had killed a big buck.   Of course he was always lying.  When he called this time and said he had a big buck, Kim hung up on him.  Someone else had to call Kim and tell him that this time Chad was telling the truth.  So Kim went on over to his house to congratulate him on his first kill.  Sounds like another version of the "Boy Who Cried Wolf."
