The Bobcat

While hunting at my club in Coosa County on Saturday the 20th of January, I had a big surprise. Now anyone who knows me, knows I am terrified of heights. Well I was sitting in a ladder stand about 20 feet off the ground and had been there for about 2 ½ hours. I hadn’t seen a thing (which is very unusual, seeing how we are over populated with does). About 4:00 PM I started hearing something in the brush when this bobcat stepped out. I don’t know who was more scared, him or me. I saw him about the same time he saw me and I jumped. It raised it's paw and growled. I wasn’t sure what to do. I really wanted a chance at a buck. As I sat there watching the cat, I noticed it was following the same trail I was going to have to take to get back to the four wheeler about ¾ mile away, and that was going to be after dark. So with that being said I knew what to do. After shooting it, I had to drag it back. It weight about 45 lbs.
